Currently, the Home Emergency & Safety Planner is offered in a digital format. This allows homeowners to access it immediately, print only the pages they need, and easily update information as things change over time.

The digital format also makes it simple to add the planner directly into the Blue Ribbon Home Wellness Binder if you are already using the Home Wellness Program. Many homeowners choose to print the pages and keep them organized in their binder for quick access during an emergency.

Offering the planner digitally also helps keep the cost low while providing instant access, so homeowners can begin organizing their emergency and safety information right away without waiting for shipping or additional fees.

In the future, a printed version may be available, but the digital format currently provides the most flexibility, accessibility, and affordability for homeowners.

Q: How long does it take to complete?

The time it takes to complete the Home Emergency & Safety Planner will vary for each homeowner. Some people may be able to fill out most of the information in a short amount of time, while others may choose to work on it gradually as they gather the details they need.

The goal is to complete the planner as soon as reasonably possible, but there is no pressure to finish everything in one sitting. This planner is meant to be a thoughtful process that helps you truly understand your home, your emergency resources, and your support network.

Some sections may even encourage you to connect with your community. For example, you may need to gather neighbor contact information or confirm local emergency resources. Many of the pages inside the planner require information that is unique to each home, such as the closest police and fire stations, nearby emergency services, neighbor contact information, utility shut-off details, and a custom home evacuation diagram.

Because every property has different layouts, neighbors, and local emergency resources, the planner works best when it is dedicated to a single home. This ensures the information inside remains clear, accurate, and immediately useful during an emergency.
